We're the Definition of Comp Unity

Another great week here in Columbus,

There is a new family in our branch....The Appels. There are 8 of them so that has got to bring our numbers over 100 each week, i'll have to check :) All of us were praying for a family like this. Ha!Ha! The Chapel is always full! Anyway, Sister Appel is awesome. We went and did some service for her, just unpacking stuff. She gave us the Frozen CD. It's Disney so we can listen to it! Mostly, we listen to 2 songs: Let It Go (totally applies to the mission...I'll send the explanation sometime) and Love is an Open Door (also changed...it applies to sister case and I. The part we change is obviously the end when he says, "will you marry me." Change it to "Will you be my roommate?" It's perfect!

I've had a problem with losing things this week. I'm surprised not my brain yet. My infinity bracelet broke so I put it on my necklace. Well Sister Case put it on for me at Kayla's (Less Active) and it fell off but I didn't realize until we were at dinner. Then later in the week my magnet nametag fell off and I thought it was gone for sure. I was so sad! But all at once I found them. We went back to Kayla's a few days later to look for my Infinity and there it was...right on the floor. Then I reached into a pocket on the inside of my coat and there was my nametag! Miracles! I was so grateful! I didn't think I was going to find them.

At District Meeting we learned how to Bible Bash! Just kidding, we learned how to confound BBs by bearing down in PURE TESTIMONY! POW! That simple!

We went on splits for the first time on our missions! It was sad being away from Sister Case! Ha!Ha! I don't know what is going to happen IF we ever get separated.

So remember Joan? I'm sure I've talked about her before. She is Brother Davis' girlfriend. She's been investigating pretty much since Sisters opened the area in May. Well...SHE IS GETTING BAPTIZED NEXT FRIDAY. Happy Birthday to you Mommy! She has been ready for a while but didn't want to move up her date. Well a miracle happened and she finally got her answer that this is right. She is a busy, busy women. Always on the go and she said she was reading the pamphlets and felt peace, which she hasn't felt before. We helped her see that was her answer and it clicked!!!! She has asked me to speak on the Holy Ghost! I am so honored to have been a part of all of this!

Missions are the best. If you are considering or even had a thought of going....GO! GO NOW! It is the biggest blessing ever! The Sons of Mosiah left a Kingdom to serve our Heavenly Father so we can give up anything! Read Alma 17 and think about a mission!

I love you all so much :)

This is Why We Come on Missions...To get stuff

Above is another quote from my dearly beloved companion :)

We learned how to make homemade cake and frosting this week. We did some service for the Peschkes and they had us put together shelves for their food storage...that was a sight to see I'm sure. Made for some good laughs :) Sylvia chopped her hair. I don't know if you ever saw her Mane before but she chopped like 6 inches. It's still SUPER long!

Zone training this week was awesome! We talked about being positive. Thoughts --> feelings --> action -->results so If you want positive results you need to have positive thoughts!
Thursday for relief society we did crock pot cooking. Well we just ate it :) And got a cookbook. This is where the quote from my dear Sister Case comes in.

We had exchanges on Friday and Saturday and a straight up miracle happened. We were visiting a new family that just moved into the road. This happened to be right up the street from Leann and Ronney (the crazy gun guy). We were sitting in the car and saw them walking up the street so we creeped on them. We looked away and when I looked in the rear view mirror they were coming our way. I thought for sure they were going to see us sitting there in the car but sister gomez ducked and I pretended to be fixing my hair. Next we knew they were walking away. HEAVENLY FATHER MADE US INVISIBLE! Miracles really do happen ladies and gents!

We had a lesson with all 4 missionaries at Sylvias. Sister and Ali Hyde came too. They took us to get blizzards at Dairy Queen afterwards.

SYLVIA AND EMILY ARE BAPTIZED! This was possible the happiest day of my life! Everything went smoothly and the spirit was so strong there. Then they got confirmed on Sunday. Their blessings were amazing. To top it all off Miguel, our recent convert, passed the sacrament for the first time! Such a great weekend!!! Saturday morning Sylvia texted us and told her she couldn't do it.....but then she sent one that said just kidding!!! Gaul that was not funny Sylvia!!! After the baptism we went to eat and then watched 17 Miracles. They loved it almost as much as I do!
In other news....the winds got up to 75 MPH. not even joking a little bit. It's pretty fun :)

Well I love you all so much! Thanks for all you do for me! Always remember how much our Heavenly Father loves you! Read 'Hope of God's Light' from April General Conference. It is so great!!! I LOVE THE LIGHT!

Love Always,

Sister Dumont

Another One Bites the Dust (Transfers that is)

Welcome to Transfer #5!

I can't even believe it! I know I literally say this every week but it's true, TIME IS FLYING BY! I hit my 6 MONTH MARK on Friday! 6 months....that's half a year...that means I only have one year left...that makes me sick! Don't talk about it!

Our new obsession: Betty Crocker Fudge brownies with Reeses Peanut Butter Chips (it will change your life....and your weight)

For the next Zone Conference (at the end of February) is OLYMPICS. Obviously president thinks we're getting a little chunky and he's probably right....so Sister Case and I are preparing for that!

OH DID I MENTION SISTER CASE AND I ARE STILL TOGETHER IN COLUMBUS?! We know that there is a marvelous work and a wonder for the two of us to do here in C*town. When we told Sister Bishop we were still together she said, "You two are so lucky! You should just leave your missions and go to Vegas!" Don't Tempt!!!! (just kidding, I will never leave my mission...ever!!!!)

It always snows on Wednesdays in Lincoln...well just the past two and since that's where our district meetings are we get to be in it. The pioneer sisters got in a little crash on the way to DM so that was sad. The car was drivable and everything is okay. It never snows in Columbus....like it does in Lincoln.

So Tayna is back...she is our friend again and we are teaching her! She wants to go to the temple...just has to get baptized first. But she isn't willing to give up some addictions yet so that will be our next mountain to climb!

Sylvia and Emily are getting baptized this very Saturday! They were interviewed last Wednesday and when they got there they still weren't sure they were going to do it. As soon as they got out of their interviews they were CONFIDENT that they were ready! I love it :) I have never seen Sylvia smile that big. They are so happy and I am so excited to see what joy it brings.

My thoughts this week have been focused on how to have a change a heart as they do in the Book of Mormon. I haven't nailed it down quite yet. If y'all have any ideas let me know! But what I do know is that it comes from giving our will to the Lord (also something i'm trying to figure out how to do). What I do know is that it is all possible through the Atonement!

I love you all so much:) Thanks for all the love and support always! Never forget that you are loved! Remember who you are and whose you are!

Love Always,
Sister Dumont

Sometimes we make the same face in photos! Sometimes we don't!

New Year's Kiss

Happy New Year one and all!

I am so lucky, this whole year I will be on my mission  :)

Sister Case and I got some AWESOME Nebraska shirts at Goodwill. They are so comfortable to sleep in so we had a New Years photo shoot. Also I had the best New Years kiss ever so be jealous! :) We went to sleep at 10:30 New Years Eve but we set an alarm for 11:58. We woke up, waited 2 minutes, said," Happy New Years!" and knocked back out.

So I've come to realize how extremely blessed I am to have Sister Case. Some sisters in the mission don't get along with their companions and I am just so lucky to have the relationship I do with her! Shout out to my partner in ..... saving souls!
Sister C has recently introduced me to a Mexican place called Q'Doba and I am now officially converted. I love it! Steak Queso Burrito...extra Queso please :)

So here's the low down with Sylvia and Emily. So they committed to being baptized on the 11th. The branch presidency wouldn't be there that day so she decided to push it back just a week to the 18th, which we felt good about. We gave her a sticky note with all the information about what they needed to decide on for the program and set up their interview. On Wednesday, on our way home from Lincoln we get a text from Sylvia saying that she doesn't think that she is ready. WE WERE FLIPPING OUT! Luckily, the Reeves had invited her over for dinner that night with us so we would see her. We didn't get to talk to her about it that night. We had exchanges on Thursday and so Sister Gomez and I went over and talked to her about what she was thinking. She told us she was still planning on the 18th but she is just nervous that she will be baptized and then fall away because of not doing what she needs too. We set her mind at ease and helped her to rely on her faith. We also set up a time to go to the trail center on Saturday. That was so amazing! She felt the spirit so strong and she recognized it. We found out last night that when we gave her a list of things to choose for the program it scared her and that's why she started doubting. We told her not to worry and that we would take care of it! Yikes! She is so ready!

Shout out to MAMA CASE for sending Sista C Book of Mormon, Go Fish! We have had a blast playing that this week :) With members and investigators!

I love exchanges because so many miracles happen! Sister Vogel and I finally discussed our love for Swig, then I started craving it so I try not to think about it :) haha Anyone in or going to St. George, eat a sugar cookie and drink a dirty Dr. Pepper for me will ya?

Before going to the trail center Sylvia wanted to go to lunch at the Golden Corral so we did. It was so stinking good but I got so full. Good thing it was fast Sunday the next day!

Sister Case and I got to sing in the memorial room, which is a room with a big window that looks out on the temple and the pioneer cemetery. The spirit in this room is just incredible and I just want to spend all of our time in there when we go. We sang I know/I feel.

Well it is FREEZING today. -15 windchill is supposed to get to -30.....yikes! President said in  temps of -30 skin exposure for 15-30 seconds = frost bite! Please Bless NO!

This week is transfers. We are PRAYING we stay together.....if it is Heavenly Father's will...but we really hope it is :)

If you send anything send it to the mission address which is 11027 Martha St Omaha, NE 68144 this week and I will let you know what my address is.

I got a letter from the Stake a few weeks ago and thought I would share a part from President Jaussi's letter. He talks about the 3 circumstances in which trials are brought into our lives. 1. "Sin can lead to unhappiness and trials. The key to overcoming trials that come as a result of sin is to REPENT." 2. "Sometimes other people do things that cause us pain or sorrow. The key to overcoming this is FORGIVENESS." and 3. "We were sent to earth to be tested." Things happen because Heavenly Father wants to test us. "The key to overcoming this type of trial is FAITH."

Because of the Atonement, there is always a way to overcome these trials, and that is through turning to the Savior and asking for help. We all will be tried and tested through our life and it is up to us to determine how we will handle that. I've come to realize this week that happiness is a choice so choose to be HAPPY. I love you all so much and I am so grateful for the love and support you show me! Have the best week ever!

Love Always,
Sister Dumont :)
