Onward, Ever Awkward

We had a huge transfer this week. Sister Call was moved to train and reopen an area in Omaha *I only cried twice* This Sister Nelson she is training is one lucky Sister Missionary to be trained by my S. Call. Guess what?! Do you remember THIS SISTER?!

Well this is sister Smith from Fresno California, standing at 5' 7", weighing in at 273lbs (minus 200). She is a Math education major at BYU provo. AND BOY DO I LOVE HER.
If you don't remember who she is, we were in the very same MTC district. We were roomies in the MTC and basically we are the same person. It is actually really scary how much alike we are. Also, do you remember Elder Tatafu from Columbus? Well he is now our Zone Leader... crazy stuff going on here. S. Smith is a new sister training leader so I am privileged to show her the ropes. We are going to see so many miracles this transfer!

Saturday was the receptions of some of the YSA people so we went to that! this man, Jacob just got back from his mission in Alaska 8 months ago, already married! We walked in and we gave April a hug, the bride and then Jake went in for a hug and I FROZE! he was just giving me a hard time. Turns out he knows a bunch of the elders who were in our Zone at the MTC. Small world eh?

We had a super miracle after the reception. We were trying to decide if we should go finish weekly planning or go see people and I felt strongly to go see Mindi Gray. Well we went and no answer. As we were walking back to the car I said, "I think all we need to be a star companionship (no 0s in key indicators) is a new investigator and gator at church. Then I get in the car and start talking to myself about how we're going to do this as S smith is backing me up. Well, I see that she is talking to someone and motions for me to get out of the car so I do. Levi asked if she was looking for someone and if he could help. The spirit definitely prompted him to approach us. We ended up talking for a while. We taught him about the Family Proc and invited him to take the lessons. He said yes and we prayed with him. 1 new investigator! We have a lesson with him tonight :)

I got a blessing this week that said how when I get home I will be able to tell cool stories about the weather and fireflies.....Bishop didn't even know I loved the storms or fireflies here! Heavenly Father just knows me oh so well :)

I love you all! Have the best week ever!

Love Always, Sister Dumont :)

What a week!

Well this week was so great! So good that I can't even remember what happened :) A lot of miracles, that is for sure! I think the biggest story of the week is we got to talk to Karen and have a phone lesson while she is in North Carolina! She said for 4 days after she committed to be baptized she felt the adversary. He tried and tried to get her to not want to be baptized but she stood her ground and is still pushing through. She is reading the Book of Mormon and is being blessed by that. I miss her so bad and just want her to come home.

We help this 86 y/o gem out with her garage sale this week. She is the classiest old lady and loves the 'Mormons' but doesn't want to be one........yet!

We had a lot of Lightening and Fireflies this week! 2 nights we went out and caught the fireflies! It's my new favorite sport :) haha

I love you all so much! This may really be my last week with Sister Call, transfers are on Friday. I am grateful for the opportunity that I have to learn from her. Plus, we have a lot of fun :)

True story!

I love you all!

I want my family and my friends to know...

First of all.....KAREN IS SET FOR BAPTISM! Right after I emailed last week we had a lesson with her and she had read her reading assignment and MORE. She kept pointing out scriptures about baptism and then she said, "And I'm ready to be baptized." WHAT?! the only problem is that she is in North Carolina (Zane, find her) for the next month or so but when she gets back....IT'S ON!

I was reading the talk from Sister Reeves this past week and at the end she says: "This is what I want my family to know..." So I decided to make my own. I want my family and friends to know...That the BOM has healing power beyond all else. No matter what, the Savior through his Atonement, has the power to heal us. I know because He has healed me. If you want to grow closer to the Savior read the BOM EVERY DAY! The bom is Christ. He is the way! the prophets and apostles whole purpose is to testify of Christ. They will not lead us astray but closer to Him. This is Christ's church on the earth. living the gospel of Jesus Christ every day is possible. As you read the Bom, pray and seek how you can change and then do it! True happiness comes as we are founded on Christ. The way we can know Christ is our Savior is through reading the words of ancient and modern day prophets.

i LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!

I have photos but forgot my camera cord..oops!

Have a great week!

Welcome to the World Baby Gray!

Just so every knows, I have a new Nephew, Grayson Staker and I love him! He was born on Friday June 6, 2014. He is a fighter!

This week flew by! Sometimes it feels like we're never in our area but that's only because we're never in our area. haha

There is a new family in the ward, maybe i talked about them before, the Terry's. They are just so stinking awesome! They're my age. We are having lunch and playing games with them today! They are from Sandy. They spoke in sacrament meeting!

Speaking of Sacrament meeting....it was an exciting one. Not because any investigators came....first of all, there was a moth flying around for the second week in a row. It was just going around smacking people in the face. I had a hard time focusing.

Then this kind of scary guy comes walking in, jingling, to sacrament meeting. I mean, we don't judge but this dude is in all black, piercings, tats, a huge cross bling, and a backpack. The elders sit next to him and Sacrament meeting starts. After the sacrament this man leaves but he leaves behind his backpack. The bishop saw this and was a little worried so he sent a note to the elders telling them to take the backpack out. HE THOUGHT THERE WAS A BOMB OR SOMETHING IN THIS BAG. Now I can't blame him because I thought the exact same thing. A bunch of men went out and I'm not exactly sure what happened but it was all just blown out of proportion. I do have to say though, that I was scared for my life. haha

....oh the adventures of a mission!

I love you all!

Longest Week of my Mission!

Woof, it's been quite the long week...

I'm gonna write a lot this week, (compared to previous) so be prepared.
So...We did some service for a member who has a farm. We shoveled cow yuck into her garden. it was .....fun :) We got some sun so that was great. We moved back into the Cammacks (i'm not sure if i said we had moved into the YSAs apartment for a week and a half) and while getting myself cleaned up I found 59 red dots on my stomach. IT WAS NUTS AND I FLIPPED. We had Karen check them, she's a nurse, and she said they were scabies! YIKES! The next day we went to the doc and I got the treatment cream for it. Applied it that night and washed everything the next day.

Janiece sent me photos of my little Cohen and I just love him so much! He was born on the day of my 9 month mark, isn't that cute?! I'm a little obsessed with him...it's fine. I kiss his picture every day! :) Sister Jorgensen made us Cafe Rio burritos! It was an answer to my prayers! I haven't had anything remotely close to that since home! Yum Yum. We had a funny conversation that night with the zone leaders. They called to ask how all the sisters in the zone were doing and then they asked about us. Well, we felt like we should let them know that I went to the Dr and they asked what for. Sister Call said, "she has a disease, just kidding. she uh.....has....uh..." mean while I'm whispering, " tell them I have a rash, just tell them I have a rash!" "she uh....she.......uhhhhh...." I take the phone and yell "I HAVE A RASH, OKAY!".........YIKES! I don't think I have laughed that hard in.....my whole life. How embarrassing! OH WELL!!!!

We had a meeting with Brother Price, our assistant WML on friday. They had us over for breakfast. (Dad, I had a bacon maple bar doughnut just for you :) We are excited to work with brother Price. Plus, he loves tracting with a burning passion (no lie).

One of our Less-active members is trying to quit smoking this month so we are going to go off sugar for a month (except for dinner appointments). It is going to be awesome, I can already tell.

I am so grateful for the Atonement! It is what allows us to be better and to keep pushing forward. I know that Atonement is for EVERYONE but we as members of Christ's true church have FULL AND COMPLETE access to is so lets use it, K?

Shout out to my baby nephew Grayson coming at ya this Thursday, June 5, 2014! I love you baby boy and will meet you in..........(I'm not going to say how long because it's sad). Good luck to my Sis, Jess!

I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!

PS: My comp has an eye problem. I've never been to the doc so much on my mission! Sometimes I make fun of her....I'm rude!

(This is Elder Croak, he lives in our window well :)
